We take the protection of your data very seriously. We treat it confidentially and in accordance with the legal data protection regulations and this privacy policy. We must also point out that data transmission on the internet (e.g. communication by e-mail) can have security gaps. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
We thank you for your trust and want you to know that the security of your data is our top priority. That's why we want as little of it as possible! In order for everything to work as planned, we need a few permissions from you.
Access to your location
In order for the MAQNIFY Experience Guide to function optimally, we need your location approval. In order to calculate the distance of POIs (points of interest), i.e. all the sights and stations you can explore, to your location and to play location-based audio content on the tourist information boards in live mode, you must explicitly agree to the sharing. This also allows the app to run in the background even when your screen is turned off, which saves your app's battery when in use. For analysis purposes, we also store anonymised accesses to POIs displayed in live mode on our servers. Your exact location is NOT transmitted.
Access to your calendar
In the MAQNIFY Experience Guide you can find information about events at individual POIs. In order for you to be able to save these events in your personal calendar as a reminder, we need your calendar approval. The approval only enables the event to be saved in your calendar. As we are very busy ourselves, we do not want access to your other appointments. You can restrict access at any time in your device settings.
Tracking and statistics
We want the MAQNIFY Experience Guide to be an offer that everyone can use without hesitation. For this reason, we deliberately refrain from tracking your activities on a large scale. In order to be able to evaluate how often individual stations and audio files are called up, we anonymously store the number of calls per user. Your anonymised IP is also transmitted. We use the user calls as anonymous statistics for our quality control and share them with selected partners to monitor the success of the MAQNIFY experience guide. It is not possible to draw conclusions about individual users.
