FAQ
With 100 percent coverage, the Experience Guide is the only app to offer free and ad-free explanations of every single destination behind the tourist attraction signs in Germany and Austria.
You can listen to an audio story of all 3,800 brown signs along the motorway for Germany and Austria. The length of the stories varies depending on whether the destination is already a Premium Partner or not.
The length of the audio contributions varies depending on whether the destination is already a Premium Partner of the Experience Guide or not. If the destination is not yet a partner, it will of course still be displayed on the map and in the list view. A list entry is also available for each destination, but without detailed or further information for non-partners. However, you can request further information for all stations.
We have located all the brown tourist attraction signs in Germany and Austria by GPS and entered them in the Experience Guide.
Currently, the Experience Guide only works on the motorways and on some federal roads. However, we are already working on integrating the tourist attraction signs on the federal roads as well.
In order to provide you with the best listening experience on your journey, the Experience Guide needs access to your location. Only if the Experience Guide knows where you are, can it play the right audio clips on your route and show you the distance to your destination.
No, the Experience Guide is free of charge. You can download the app free of charge from the Apple Appstore and Google Playstore. Costs may be incurred for the transfer of mobile data. These depend on your mobile phone tariff and provider.
In principle, you can enjoy the Experience Guide in any vehicle that is registered on the motorways. We recommend connecting your smartphone to your vehicle via Bluetooth audio, Android Auto / Apple CarPlay or an AUX cable. In this way, the audio contributions will be played back via your vehicle's loudspeakers. Of course, you can listen to your favourite radio station, podcast or music in the meantime.
Yes, as soon as you have activated the live mode in the Experience Guide, you can put your smartphone away and concentrate fully on the journey. The Experience Guide automatically plays an audio clip at each sign, without any further operation. The experience guide also continues to run in the background, i.e. the app does not have to be the active display screen. In this way, the Live mode can be activated before the journey and then the usual navigation app can be loaded in the foreground or the screen can be switched off.
Yes, the Experience Guide works even if you are using the radio or another sound source in your car. If your smartphone is connected to your vehicle via Bluetooth audio, Android Auto / Apple CarPlay or an AUX cable, the sound is automatically turned down when you drive past a sign so that you can experience the audio clip in full quality. The experience guide also continues to run in the background (with Android Auto or Apple CarPlay), i.e. the app does not have to be the active display screen. In this way, the Live mode can be activated before the journey and then the usual navigation app can be loaded in the foreground or the screen can be switched off.

If a brown sign is located shortly after the driveway, it is possible that the associated audio contribution will not be played. In order for the adventure guide to determine the direction in which you are travelling, you will pass through two different GPS points. If the first GPS point is before the slip road, in a few cases it may happen that no audio contribution is played at the first panel after the slip road.
If you discover a sign that is not yet in the Experience Guide, please let us know at app@erlebnis-guide.info, so that we can add it as soon as possible to make your next motorway trip an even better experience.
As we have not yet driven past all the signs in person to check them, it is possible that the GPS point has not been set exactly. If you notice such a sign, please send a message to app@erlebnis-guide.info, so that we can correct the GPS point as soon as possible.

To access the entries on the map or in the list view, you need an internet connection. This way, all entries are always up to date and you will never miss an event again.
No problem. Go to the settings and click on the start button next to Tutorial. Now you can watch everything again at your leisure. The tutorial can be called up at any time.
